Central London · Adults 18+

Someone to go with.

Choose a film you actually want to see. Meet someone who chose it too.

Opens Saturday 31 October. No card needed.

Cinema first. People second.

Start with something you already wanted to do.

Costar starts with the screening, not a stack of profiles. Pick the films you can genuinely make. If someone compatible chooses the exact same one, you each decide privately whether to go together.

The Costar moment

The awkward part is already solved.

Same filmSame cinemaSame time

You both chose to be there. Costar only asks one question.

Yes, I’d go.Pass

How it works

Same film.
Same cinema.
Same time.

FilmYou choose what you actually want to watch.
CinemaYou choose a real London venue.
TimeYou choose a screening you can genuinely attend.
Then Costar looks for the overlap.

01

Choose your screenings

Pick one primary screening and, if useful, up to two backups you would genuinely attend.

02

Decide privately

If someone compatible chooses it too, you each see a short profile and decide privately.

03

Check. Pay. Go.

Check cinema tickets, both authorise £7, then use the private Costar thread to coordinate.

Matching opens Saturday 31 October for everyone at once.

Why Costar

You wanted to see it.
They wanted to see it.
Now you don’t have to go alone.

What £7 covers

£7

The £7 is for the introduction.

●A compatible adult who is free for the same screening
●Their photo and short profile before you decide
●A private yes or pass from both sides
●A private Costar thread after both payments settle; contact details stay private until close to the screening after both reconfirm

Your cinema ticket is separate. A pass means nobody pays.

Out in the world

A night out.
Not another night on an app.

The point is to get you to a real screening with someone who wanted to be there too.

Safety

Built around a public first meeting.

Costar is designed around a public plan with clear boundaries before you meet.

01

Meet in public

You meet at the cinema, not at somebody’s home.

02

Private until confirmed

Your number stays private until close to the screening, after both payments and reconfirmations.

03

Both choose

Nothing happens unless you both independently say yes.

04

Block or report

Reporting and blocking are available from the match screen.

Photo review checks for a clear face; it is not identity verification.

Why I built Costar

“I didn’t build Costar because I had nobody to go with. I built it because nobody was ever free.”

I love going to the cinema, but I kept seeing films I wanted to watch while everyone I knew was busy. At the same time, I wanted to meet more people - without weeks of swiping and messaging. Cinema already gives two people somewhere to go and something to talk about. That became Costar.

Stop waiting for everyone else to be free.

Ready when you are

Same film.
Same cinema.
Same time.
